2020 Free Tax Clinic
Khan Financial is proud to be hosting free tax clinics as part of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). We have partnered with Glen Abbey United Church and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to provide eligible individuals with free tax preparation services for this upcoming tax season. To learn about the program and eligibility requirements please read the following information.
Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)
The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is a collaborative partnership between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), community organizations, and their volunteers, that has been in place since 1971.
Community organizations host free tax clinics where volunteers file tax returns for eligible people. This helps ensure taxpayers receive, or continue to receive, the benefit payments to which they are entitled.
In order to qualify for many federal, provincial, and municipal programs and services, a yearly tax return needs to be completed. This is a difficult and sometimes overwhelming task for many segments in need of help. The CVITP service is offered free of charge to everyone who meets the eligibility criteria and includes the preparation of current and prior year returns.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for help at our free tax clinic if you have a modest income and a simple tax situation.

Glen Abbey United Church and Khan Financial are hosting a free tax clinic as part of the CVITP.
The tax clinic will operate from the Glen Abbey United Church, located at:
1469 Nottinghill Gate (Dorval & Upper Middle)
The clinic is scheduled to operate from February 26 to April 29, 2020 during the following days and hours:
Mondays: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Wednesdays: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
The clinic will NOT be accepting walk-ins.
Tax returns will only be prepared by appointment. We may require you to drop-off your documents and pick them up later once the tax return has been prepared and transmitted.
This clinic will not be preparing any paper-based returns. Only returns eligible for electronic filing (EFILE) will be prepared at this location. Electronic filing is the CRA’s preferred method of filing because it reduces the margin for error, helps ensure accuracy and resolves issues arising from missing slips.
